The vehicles we use on our collection service in Monmouthshire are three 23 tonne Dennis Elite compactors, with a total of 6 staff crewing them. As you can see above in the two bottom pictures, we also collect loose cardboard and bundles of green waste. There is one other vehicle used on the round that is a transit tipper, as pictured below.
There are the two methods in which we collect our waste in Monmouthshire, one is white biodegradable bags 650 x 800mm and 30 micron thick, and the other is given to customers with large gardens, who are known to the crews as being rule abiding to our service. (We have a data base of customers that put contaminants in our bags). This bag holds the equivalent of three bio bags. We charge for these bags (at cost price) and they are becoming more and more popular in Monmouthshire.
